AUMA

As the central association in the German trade fair industry, AUMA is the fusion of forces which collaborate, as partners, to shape the trade fair market i.e. exhibitors, visitors, organisors and service companies. It was founded in 1907. AUMA´s central task is to strengthen German trade fairs at home and abroad. Furthermore, AUMA promotes the quality of German trade fairs by creating market transparency, by supporting cooperation between market partners, through the exchange of information and experience among its members and through joint projects with members.

In September 2011 the AUMA specialist forum, “LTE broadband technology“ for AUMA members, took place in Berlin. Participants particularly included employees from all the well-known fair organisors in the IT and technology sectors. Due to the complexity of the subject, numerous employees from the exhibition and visitor services, law and administration sectors were also represented.

Dr. Peter Neven, Managing Director of AUMA

“The importance of this specialist forum was demonstrated by the quick implementation of LTE at the first trade fair venues. The experiences gathered during this process, be they technical, organisational or commercial, are an excellent confirmation for AUMA in having provided its members with a platform for discussion in good time before the introduction of new technologies”.

ROTH teleconcept organised

a LTE-Forum for AUMA

Helmut Roth, owner of ROTH teleconcept, was available to AUMA as advisor and consultant. ROTH teleconcept was responsible for the entire design content and moderation of the forum. In addition to technical aspects, organisational, commercial and legal issues were debated, which are relevant to exhibition organizers with regard to the introduction of new LTE broadband technology in Germany.

Ferdinand Hirmer, member of the executive board:
"At the beginning of May 2010 we formulated an exceedingly ambitious plan. Conventional telecommunications systems at all our sites were to be gradually and completely exchanged in parallel for more powerful, new communication systems."

Ferdinand Hirmer:

"This project was implemented smoothly and extremely quickly thanks to Mr. Roth's expert support. Only six months passed between us establishing contact in May and startup at our central site in October of this year; surely a record. The complete first stage of the project was carried out within this brief period including review of the existing system, invitation to tender and installation. I was completely satisfied with Mr. Roth's technical know-how and outstanding consulting services."

Rischart's Backhaus

Case Study

Max Rischart's Backhaus KG

With 15 addresses in the best locations in Munich and eight million customers every year, Rischart's Backhaus [Rischart's Bakery] is one of the leading companies in the industry. However, that doesn't mean this Munich-based traditional company (founded in 1883) has gone unaffected by digitization. In fact, Rischart's Backhaus was faced with the great challenge of updating its entire telecommunication system during day-today operations. The premises for the redesign were: system security, high quality, innovation, cost-effectiveness.

Michael Scheyerl, Head of Administration

“A considerable work process has already taken place behind the scenes by the time the first customers eat their fresh baked goods at 6 a.m. Shop orders for the next day, procuring materials, starting production at midnight, early morning deliveries; these are just a few of the processes that take place. Therefore, it is important that electronic communication paths mustn't fail at any given second. Given his excellent knowledge and experience, Mr. Roth has convinced us to replace our historically grown telecommunications infrastructure with a new future-proof infrastructure. During the complex negotiations with service providers and service partners, he always focused on the interests of our bakery. In the end, the overall concept was successfully implemented. We award Mr. Roth a rating of „absolutely recommendable“.

ROTH teleconcept assisted Rischart's Backhaus, among others, with the following project objectives:

  • Review and examination of old service contracts

  • Establishment of the basic requirements for future telecommunications

  • Conception of the LAN / WAN for the two main production and administration sites, as well as the 15 additional shops

  • Coordination of the commercial framework

  • Creation of a list of requirements for the bid solicitation

  • Evaluation of offers

  • Support in negotiations with service providers and service partners

  • Project schedule for the implementation
